The lastest report at the "Conference on Implementation of the 19/2018 Resolution" under the Aus4Reform Program, hosted by the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is held at the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM). According to PhD. Nguyen Dinh Cung, Director of CIEM, until the first quarter of 2018, there have been 738 business conditions removed and simplified.

The lastest report at the "Conference on Implementation of the 19/2018 Resolution" under the Aus4Reform Program, hosted by the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is held at the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM). According to PhD. Nguyen Dinh Cung, Director of CIEM, until the first quarter of 2018, there have been 738 business conditions removed and simplified.

 

 

Since 2014, the  Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has approved the Project supports restructuring for a More Competitive Vietnam (RCV) and the Australian Support for Economic Reform Program (Aus4Reform Program) has coordinated with Government, Party and National Assembly agencies and the private sector to undertake activities to promote the improvement of the business environment and enhance competitiveness and national competitiveness in accordance with the objectives set out in the Resolution.

The purpose of this conference is to evaluate the tasks and solutions of ministries and sectors to improve the business environment, improve competitiveness in the past four years.

In addition,  basically introduce new points and how to implement the Resolution 19-2018 / NQ-CP on the implementation of the major tasks and solutions to improve the business environment, enhance national competitiveness in 2018 and subsequent years promulgated by the Government.

"This is the biggest improvement, the highest increase in the past 10 years. Following the resolution of the 19/2017 resolution, Resolution 19/2018 of the Government reflects the strong determination of the Vietnam Government in continuing to further reform the business environment, as well as enhance Vietnam's competitiveness, "said Michael Trueblood. According to Michael Trueblood, director of the Department of Economic Development and State Administration (USAID Vietnam), basing on the report on the business environment of Vietnam and the world (October, 2017), the business environment in Vietnam has improved considerably and Vietnam has rose from 82nd to 68th out of 190 economies, improving 14th compared to last year.

Also, PhD. Nguyen Dinh Cung said that while in 2017, Vietnam's national competitiveness index increased by 0.1 and 5 ranks (from 60/138 to 55/137), Vietnam's creative innovation capacity is at 47/127, up 12 levels compared to 59 in 2016, Vietnam currently has 4 low rankings and has hardly improved in recent years.

"Some indicators of Vietnam's business environment are still low, like business startup at only 123, down 2 levels from last year. Besides, business process takes nine steps, takes 22 days.

In particular, the two indicators related to the judiciary are resolving contract disputes and resolving business bankruptcies having slow improvement, in which the index of bankruptcy business for many years at a low position, ranked No. 129 / 190, "said Cung.

The conference also created a forum for ministries, sectors, localities, enterprises and business community to share their results and experiences as well as difficulties and solutions proposed to achieve the objectives of the Resolution. It also discusses the results, experience as well as the remaining problems and seeking solutions to improve the business environment, enhance the national competitiveness.
